Symptoms & Signs

What are the signs and symptoms of the disease?

ALL can cause blood-clotting problems in any part of the body. These problems include:

  • easy bruising
  • gastrointestinal bleeding
  • nosebleeds
  • petechiae, or tiny red splotches in the skin
  • Other symptoms of ALL include:

  • dizziness
  • fatigue and weakness
  • headaches
  • hypersensitivity to cold
  • loss of appetite and nausea and/or constipation
  • palpitations, or an unusual sensation of the heart beating within the chest
  • shortness of breath at rest or with activity
  • unexplained fevers or night sweats
  • weight loss
  • People with ALL often get infections due to the breakdown of the immune system. Signs of this are:

  • infectious diarrhea
  • kidney infection
  • pneumonia
  • sinus infection
  • skin boils
  • oral thrush, a yeast infection in the mouth
  • unusual parasite infections
