Health Tip: Taking Care of Your Teeth

(HealthDay News) -- Brushing and flossing are an important part of dental health.

The American Dental Association recommends that you brush your teeth twice daily, using a fluoride toothpaste approved by the ADA. Each day, you should also floss your teeth to remove plaque and food particles that brushing alone can''t reach.

You should replace your toothbrush regularly -- about every three-to-four months.

And don''t forget proper eating, the ADA says. You should maintain a healthy, well-balanced diet with few snacks between meals.

Finally, regular checkups with your dentist are important, to clean your teeth and check for cavities and other potential dental problems.
