Health Tip: Less Stress for the Holidays

(HealthDay News) -- With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it''s important to avoid stress. To prevent the parties, shopping, and family visits from taking their toll on your health, follow these suggestions from the National Safety Council:

  • Don''t try to squeeze all of your shopping into a quick trip to the mall. Start early and plan to make several trips.
  • Take frequent walks back to the car to unload your packages. You''ll feel less stressed by not carrying all of those bags, and you''ll reduce your risk of back strain or injury.
  • Try running only a few errands each day, rather than trying to pack everything into one long trip.
  • Be sure to take time to relax and do something that you enjoy, like reading or listening to music.
