Health Tip: Symptoms of Cat Scratch Disease

(HealthDay News) -- Cat scratch disease is an infection caused by bacteria on cats'' claws or teeth that enters a person''s body when a cat scratches or bites.

Here''s a list of symptoms, courtesy of the Children''s Hospital of Wisconsin:

  • Bites or scratches that don''t heal or continue to worsen.
  • Rash on the skin.
  • Swollen or painful glands, especially under the armpits.
  • Symptoms similar to the flu, including fatigue, fever, body aches, headache, and loss of appetite.
