(HealthDay News) -- Blindness can be caused by a host of diseases and conditions, including diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, vitamin A deficiency, leprosy, trachoma and river blindness (onchocerciasis). The U.S. National Library of Medicine says these additional factors can lead to blindness:
