Space Heaters

(HealthDayNews) -- If you use space heaters, the U.S. Home Safety Council offers these safety tips:

  • Turn them off before leaving a room or going to sleep.
  • Supervise kids and pets at all times.
  • Use proper fuel in kerosene models.
  • Never dry flammable items, such as clothing or blankets, over space heaters.
  • Keep all flammable objects at least three feet from space heaters.
