Cold Bagged Lunches

(HealthDayNews) -- When your boxed lunches include salads and other cold dishes, heed these food safety tips from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency:

  • Use an insulated lunch box with freezer packs or frozen juice boxes to keep lunch cold.
  • Don't include meat, chicken, seafood, eggs, mayonnaise and dairy products if you can't keep the food cold.
  • Keep boxed lunches away from radiators and out of direct sunlight.
  • After you've eaten, don't store any fresh food in your lunch box unless you can put it in a refrigerator.
  • If possible, refrigerate or freeze sandwiches before packing them for lunch.
