Health Tip: Interval Training

(HealthDayNews) -- Lack of time, results and patience seem to be the top excuses for why people don''t exercise.

A fun solution may be interval training, the American Council on Exercise says.

This type of exercise involves alternating short bursts of intense activity with active recovery, which is a less-intense form of the original activity.

For example, an interval training routine might involve alternating between walking for two minutes then running for the same amount of time.

The intensity and length of each interval is based on your stamina and exercise goals, the council says.
