Health Tip: Nosebleeds Common in Winter

(HealthDay News) -- Nosebleeds may be very common in the coming winter months, but according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine, they can also indicate more serious health risks.

Here are some causes of nosebleeds:

  • A foreign object in the nose.
  • A direct impact to the nose.
  • A deviated septum.
  • A bleeding disorder or high blood pressure.
  • Hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia, a blood vessel growth in the back of the nose.
  • Blood thinners or aspirin.

Adding a vaporizer to your house or lowering the temperature in your home can decrease frequent nosebleeds.
