Health Tip: Don't Lag Behind

(HealthDay News) -- Jet lag causes physical and mental effects to the body when traveling quickly across time zones. According to University Health Services at Princeton University, there are ways to reduce jet lag and adjust the body to the new time zone.

Travelers should eat high-protein foods, as foods high in starch and sugar can cause drowsiness. They should also stimulate the body by doing some form of exercise.

Travelers should be aware of any prescription drugs they are taking because some pharmaceuticals can alter the biological clock.

Additionally, be sure to stay in lit areas and stay social to stimulate the body.
