Health Tip: For Higher Energy, Take a Deep Breath

(HealthDay News) -- With the amount of activities you perform each day --whether it''s heavy lifting on the job or at home -- it''s no wonder that you''re out of breath.

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center says the use of proper breathing techniques while doing daily activities will enable you to do more with less shortness of breath.

Here''s a list of tips designed to help you save energy:

  • Decide which jobs are necessary to do today.
  • Do the hardest jobs when you have the most energy.
  • Sit down to work whenever possible.

The Medical Center also recommends you practice pursed-lip breathing, remembering to exhale during the hardest part of any activity, and diaphragmatic breathing exercises.
