Health Tip: When Your Child Becomes Aggressive

(HealthDay News) -- Don''t just ignore overly aggressive behavior in children, the Children''s Hospital and Health Center of San Diego says.

The hospital offers these suggestions:

  • Don''t hit or spank the child for being aggressive.
  • Use the aggression as a way to teach the child better solutions.
  • Set limits for the child.
  • Discuss with the child ways to deal with the situation.
  • If the child refuses to cooperate, remove him from the situation.
  • Reward kindness.
  • Encourage the child to talk about his feelings.
