Health Tip: For Asthmatics, No Dust is a Must

(HealthDay News) -- If you have asthma, maintaining a clean home is crucial, according to the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.

This means keeping your rooms as dust-free as possible, says the institute, part of the National Institutes of Health.

The agency offers these suggestions:

  • Empty and clean all closets.
  • Remove carpeting, if possible.
  • Clean and scrub wood floors to remove all dust.
  • Wear a mask when cleaning.
  • Use a special HEPA filter in the vacuum.
  • Air the room thoroughly.
