Hispanics Can Head Online for Environmental Asthma Info

FRIDAY, Feb. 10 (HealthDay News) -- Hispanic-Americans looking for information on environmental health issues associated with asthma, mold, and indoor carbon monoxide have a new resource to turn to at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency''s Spanish Web site.

The new Web page is the latest in a series of online environmental health sites presented in Spanish by the EPA over the past year. Others include pages devoted to pesticides, lead poisoning prevention, hazardous waste sites and recycling.

The EPA''s Spanish Web site also has data on educational resources for teachers and students, EPA grants, fellowships and small business opportunities with the agency.

The new page focuses on how environmental health issues affect different Hispanic communities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The page''s organizers will update it regularly with new developments and policy.

The EPA''s future plans for Hispanic outreach include additional Spanish language Web pages and community forums to discuss health and environmental issues.
