(HealthDay News) -- Now that spring is coming, you may be thinking allergies. But some people with allergies are bothered all year, according to the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Allergy symptoms may be temporary, as when you enter the house of a friend who has cats. Or you can be allergic to something that you''re exposed to more frequently, like dust mites that hide in your carpet at home. Whatever the cause of your sneezing and itchy eyes, the best solution is the most obvious: avoid the allergen, if possible. If that''s not practical, over-the-counter antihistamines or decongestants may help. If they don''t provide enough relief, you may have to see an allergist.
