Health Tip: When Asthmatics Should See a Doctor

(HealthDay News) -- It''s only natural that parents of children with asthma worry about the condition flaring up.

But which symptoms actually warrant a trip to the emergency room? The Nemours Foundation says to keep your eyes peeled for these warning signs:

  • Your child''s nails or face color turns blue or grayish.
  • Your child has trouble talking.
  • You can see the area between your child''s ribs or base of the neck contract.
  • Your child''s rescue medications aren''t working to stop the flare-up.

If your child shows any of these signs, seek medical attention immediately.
