Health Tip: If You Have Trouble Seeing Close Up

(HealthDay News) -- Hyperopia, also known as farsightedness, occurs when a person has difficulty seeing objects close up. Farsightedness is most often hereditary, the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center says.

Symptoms of hyperopia include blurred vision, problems seeing objects up close, and in some cases, crossed eyes. If you or your child has one or more of these problems, talk to your eye care professional.

Corrective eyeglasses or contact lenses, and in some cases surgery, can help improve the eyesight of people with hyperopia.
