Roche Says Set to Supply Tamiflu for US Stockpile

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Roche Holding AG on Tuesday said it was prepared to supply its antiviral medication Tamiflu for the U.S. strategic stockpile against the possibility of a flu pandemic, and that it is on schedule to deliver an additional two million doses ordered for 2005.

The Swiss drugmaker, which has already delivered an initial U.S. government request of 2.3 million Tamiflu treatment courses, said it is in contact with other companies that may be able to assist in manufacturing additional Tamiflu supplies.

Roche said U.S. regulators have recently approved an additional plant in the United States for producing Tamiflu, further expanding its increased worldwide production capacity.
