GlaxoSmithKline increases U.S. flu vaccine supply

BOSTON (Reuters) - GlaxoSmithKline Plc said on Thursday it will supply the U.S. market with 30 million to 35 million doses of the influenza vaccines Fluarix and FluLaval, up from about 25 million doses last year.

Vaccines for the 2007-2008 flu season will be delivered in a phased approach through September and October, with completion expected around the end of October, the company said.

Earlier this month biotechnology company MedImmune, recently acquired by AstraZeneca Plc , said it too expects to be ready to ship its nasal spray vaccine, FluMist, for the upcoming season. (Reporting by Toni Clarke)
