What are the signs and symptoms of the condition?

When a person complains of leg pain, the healthcare provider will ask some questions about the pain. These may include:

the exact location of the pain

when the pain started

the type of pain, such as dull, sharp, or throbbing

whether the pain is constant or comes and goes

if anything makes the pain better or worse

if there has been any injury to the leg

what medical conditions a person has

what medications a person takes

any other symptoms a person is having, such as weight loss or shortness of breath

what kind of physical activity the person engages in, such as sports, manual labor, or exercise
