How is the condition diagnosed?
Diagnosis of meatal stenosis begins with a medical history and physical exam. The severity of the stenosis can be evaluated by attempting to insert a small tube into the urethral opening. Ultrasound tests may be done to make sure the bladder and kidneys are not blocked. Other tests may be done if there is a history of urinary tract infections.
